Windway Property

This property is located in the Pigeon River watershed of the Lake Michigan Basin with approximately 0.70 miles of the Pigeon River running directly through the property. This property consists of forested floodplain, managed prairie, southern mesic forest, vernal ponds, and other areas of Wisconsin DNR recognized wetland areas. Many animals utilize the diverse habitats found here including; steelhead salmon, deer, turkeys, as well as many species of birds, insects, and amphibians. The wooded areas contain american beech, bur oak, maple, and basswood. A variety of native flowers and plants grow on this property including wood anemone, marsh marigold, trillium, jack-in-the-pulpit, skunk cabbage, spring beauties, wild ginger, trout lilies and more.
