Nature Journaling at Hunner Preserve
Saturday, September 7th 1-3PM
Field sketching, also known as nature journaling, is the practice of drawing and note-taking in response to nature. Through close observation, we notice details we may not have seen, we may record things we might have forgotten, and we improve our recognition and appreciation of different plant and animal species.
This Land Trust Day event at our Hunner Preserve will be led by Manitowoc artist Rebecca Jabs. Following an introduction to the activity, participants will look for inspiration in the surrounding natural areas and record observations through sketching and note-taking. Supplies will be provided for the workshop, but please bring a pencil and your favorite sketchbook if you have one (if not, we'll have extra paper!).
It is highly recommended to bring a foldable camp chair. Other good things to have along are a hat and a water bottle! Water refills, snacks, sunscreen, and insect repellent will be provided. Also, there is no bathroom access.
