Property Story
This property includes 27 acres of working land, 9.5 acres of southern mesic forest, apx. 2 acres of historic stone fences believed to have been built by Native Americans, and areas of state-identified wetlands. This property is situated on the top of a moraine, .5 miles from the Onion River and 2.3 miles from Nichols Creek and is within the Onion River water basin which is part of the Sheboygan Area of Concern (AOC). The terms of this conservation easement will help preserve the Sheboygan River Basin, protect farmland and open space, and will ensure sound land management practices to reduce non-point pollution as well as provide diverse and native habitat for wildlife.
