Misty Valley Farm - Lydolph Easement

Property story

The Protected Property, located in the northern kettle moraine region of the Sheboygan River watershed in the Lake Michigan Basin, abuts the east side of the Village of Elkhart Lake and consists of approximately 235.5 acres with a composite of 6 steeply rolling 40-acre farm parcels and is covered under a Conservation Easement. The land has areas of mature maple/beech woods with oaks, hickory, cherry, ironwood and black walnut trees, large acid bog with a bordering upland forest. There are also wetland areas of ephemeral ponds and a seasonally flooded hardwood swamp as well as a small remnant prairie, farm fields, Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) reforestation woodlands, kettle hole woodland, a steep-sided valley, and glacial terrain.
