Property story

With Glacial Lakes Conservancy's Farmland Preservation Initiative, we were able to help this landowner preserve their 76.32 acre farm.  Along with the tillable farmland, the Leach property includes two ponds with a wetland buffer, woodlands and environmental corridor that provide buffer and water quality protection for Fisher Creek and the Pigeon River watershed. These areas have been identified as a Priority Watershed under Wisconsin’s Nonpoint Source Water Pollution Abatement Program and recommended for conservation and restoration in the Sheboygan County Natural Areas and Critical Resources Plan, 2004. This property also provides habitat for mammals, songbirds, migratory waterfowl and other wetland and upland species.
