Christine KriegChris is a lifetime resident of Elkhart Lake Wi, enjoying summers there since a child. She and her husband, Ray, have a lake home in Elkhart and a home in Elm Grove Wi. They have 3 adult daughters, 2 sons in law, and a new grandson.
Passionate about preservation of the environment and surface waters impacting Elkhart Lake, Chris joined the Elkhart Lake Improvement Assn Board of Directors in 2003 where she helped promote stewardship of land and water areas. After attending a WI lakes conference where lake association reps were encouraged to partner with their local land trusts in protecting their watersheds, Chris helped establish a “Elkhart Lake Chapter of Glacial Lakes Conservancy” in 2006. When a local landowner with land contiguous to the lakeshore agreed to put their 25 acres of farm and forest land into conservancy, this chapter assisted in raising the funds necessary. This land is now known as “Grasshopper Hill Preserve” and has a strong and active “Friends” group. Chris is a longtime board member. She also assists GLC with fundraising and board development. Chris is self employed as a Real Estate agent with First Weber Inc. |
