Trail Preservation Program
|
Our Trail Preservation Program raises funds for the maintenance of our five preserves. Of the 2,400 acres that GLC has helped protect, we own and manage 304 acres—meaning we are responsible for taking care of the trails and land. Our active land management activities include keeping our trails mowed and clear of brush and fallen trees, checking and fixing trail conditions after a large storm or heavy snow, removing invasive species from the land, and hosting events for our community.
Every $5, $10, $15 donated adds up to help us keep the Preserve trails well maintained throughout the year for our community. This program will serve as a fundraiser for anything and everything that helps us maintain our beautiful trails for our community to enjoy: gas for our tractor, auger, and weed whacker, clippers and saws for trail pruning and invasive species removal, staff time to actively manage the land as well as plan events and volunteer opportunities for our community, and other general operating expenses to maintain our preserves.
