Rose PhillipsRose has been serving as Executive Director of GLC since 2017. She graduated from Silver Lake College with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Natural Science. She conducted undergraduate research on the effects of invasive shrubs on understory flora at Woodland Dunes Nature Preserve where she also worked as Outdoor Education intern. Her research on invasive species was published in the scientific journal, Ecological Restoration.
Rose was elected in 2017 to serve as an alderperson on Sheboygan’s City Council and is currently in her second term. She has been appointed to serve on the Department of Public Works Committee, Emergency Medical Services Task Force, Sustainable Committee Task Force, and the Maywood Advisory Board. Rose grew up in the country, but has lived in the City of Sheboygan for 15 years. Her hobbies and interests include yoga, gardening, hiking, camping, working on house projects, and spending time with her three daughters, two dogs, and many rescue cats. |
