John Nelson

John Nelson’s professional career has centered around natural resources and land management. He spent 30 years with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, primarily as a fisheries biologist. In addition to monitoring and managing fish communities, he was also involved in land acquisition and management. Following his tenure as a fisheries biologist, John worked for six years as a project manager with The Nature Conservancy, where he partnered with the agricultural community to address runoff and phosphorus loss from farming activities.
Outside of his professional work, John is married and has three children and seven grandchildren. He enjoys fishing, hunting, and traveling, and he strives to instill in his family a deep appreciation for the natural world and the importance of protecting the environment. |
